D3100 with Sigma 70-300mm lens taken at ISO 100 f22 1/15 sec
About 6 months ago after not using a SLR for over 25 years I purchased a Basic DSLR the Nikon D3100. and well I have now really got the bug again for photography.

I have a long way to go but in the mean time I am here what I know and what I am learning for 3 reason.

Its a way I can look back over my learning curve and see the growth I am making as a photographer.

Handy place for me to store tips I might forgot myself.

Someone else might benefit from it.

What can you expect to see on here:

I will share my photo's and my tips and locations I have visited.

I will share video clips I have found helpful not just about photography but also about Lightroom and Photoshop as going out and taking the picture is only the first stage.

I will also share links to handy software as well as recommendation to Apps for Android, Sorry not AppleOS as I don't have an Apple device and no urge to buy one.

So the above two pictures was taken at Silchester I was aiming for a sunset shoot and although I did shoot the sunset I really wish I had got to the location a lot earlier as there was so many other things to photograph. So that was a lesson learnt give yourself plenty of time to find the right spot.

Basic Tips how to get ready for a shoot

1. check your batteries are fully charged

2. Check all your equipment is clean and in good working order

3. Make sure all the setting in your camera are back to your standard settings. Often I adjust setting like ISO and White Balance for the place I am shooting in. Sometime I have forgotten to reset these and that can cause all sorts of poor results

4. Make sure you have the right clothing on, nothing worse than being out and cold or too hot. If your doing landscape get yourself a good pair of walking boots

What's in my Bag

Good Photography equipment is expensive and I am still slowly building up my equipment but here is what I carry
